A post on “the importance of continuity of personal presence” from business communications blogger Neville Hobson has stuck in my mind over these past few months as I’ve prepared to launch this site. For Neville, his blog is his personal presence online.
And while I have bits and pieces of me scattered about the Internet — on Flickr, at the now in-hibernation Around Town Sports site, and more recently on MySpace.com — I haven’t had a single, unifying place online where I can write about and explore my interests and work in online communications and new media, a place that presents components my professional vision. Bryper.com will be that place.
You will learn more about my various other interests as time goes on, including my preoccupation with a certain baseball team that won its first championship in 86 years some 18 months ago. Then there’s my family — my Kenyan wife and daughter, with a newborn on the way later this year — that I met in Australia (confused yet?), which will also weave its way into my writing from time to time.
So after plenty of thought and fiddling with templates, I officially launch Bryper.com today. I will try and keep you informed, and occasionally entertained. I hope you will visit often.
