… or I will, within the next 24 hours.
For $1.00 a month, I’ll be “employing” the person behind monthlydollar.com to post my name on his/her site, along with the URL for Bryper.com.
Mr./Ms. Monthlydollar already has 47 bosses as of this writing, and with a little publicity from places like the Naked Conversations blog, that number is sure to rise.
The idea is so goofy that it might just work — remember The Million Dollar Homepage? And I figure it’s worth $1 a month from my pocket for at least a few months to see if it does.
Update: Within two hours of this original post — and it may have been quicker, as I was commuting home and not online — my name and a link to this site were added at monthlydollar.com. I am one of the five newest “bosses” to employ Mr(s). Monthlydollar. We currently number 52.

26|Apr|2006 2Luca, thank you for your comment. I certainly think the concept is an interesting one and worth keeping an eye on. I also see that you are a fellow employer of Mr./Ms. Monthlydollar. S/he’s been a model employee so far, wouldn’t you say?

26|Apr|2006 4Yeah. But what has your new employee done for you so far?

26|Apr|2006 5Shel, thanks for your comment. I believe that my employee needs a little time to grow into the position. S/he’s only been on my payroll for about seven hours, after all. Still, at least one of the other bosses has already come and left a comment on my blog, and hopefully more will do the same in the coming days. Maybe my employee will help send a few more eyeballs to my site and generate some conversation.
A reasonable — and affordable — risk to take, in my estimation.

27|Apr|2006 6I have also become a “Boss” at monthlydollar.com
While it’s clearly one of those “why didn’t I think of that” ideas – I would rather participate for a dollar than stand by and miss a great opportunity. Traffic is everything for my site – and this is generating a whole lot more than a dollar’s worth!
Kudos to Mr, Ms, Miss or IT!!!! well done.

03|May|2006 12[...] First came nozda.com (I’ll admit, I deleted his/her comment to my initial post on monthlydollar, although perhaps I did so hastily), which purports to be raising money for a “professional internet portal” for Afghanistan. No takers as of yet. [...]
