The second Podcasting Academy, being held today and tomorrow at Boston University, is now underway.
The event will “provide guidance on how to create, distribute and use podcasts,” which includes “‘how to’ classes for beginners as well as advanced classes for more seasoned professionals.”
The Podcast Academy is sold out, but you can watch and listen to all of the speakers through a live webcast, just as I am doing right now from the comforts of my computer chair.
There’s an impressive lineup of scheduled speakers, including pioneering videoblogger Steve Garfield and C.C. Chapman of Accident Hash, U-Turn Cafe, and the Podsafe Music Network.
Without actually being at the event — and I’m kicking myself for missing the registration — the webcast is the next-best way to learn from some of podcasting’s most passionate thinkers.

28|Apr|2006 1This is a VERY cool mini conference. Lots of complete newbies which is great because you can feel the energy in the room after people speak and they get excited. Having a blast here.

28|Apr|2006 2Tony Kahn was compelling. He’s such a great guy and shares the importance of listening when interviewing.
I’m enjoying the time I’m getting to hang out with podcasters and meeting new people.

29|Apr|2006 3Thank for your comments, C.C. and Steve. Wish I could have attended myself.
Good luck with your presentations today!

30|Apr|2006 4As one of the nearly newbies, I enjoyed the hell out of this event. I consume far too many podcasts for my own good, so for one, I got to meet a bunch of my micro-heroes. As Steve mentioned, Tony Kahn was unbelievable. Check for his cast on the BU page. Also of note, based on your Category listings, was everything Michael Geoghegan said.
There’s Santa Clara now, right?
