There are two excellent ways to be part of the new-media scene in North America on Tuesday, July 4:
If you will be in or near Montreal, Quebec, take part in the second CaseCamp. Podcaster and new-comm extraordinare Mitch Joel is organizing the Montreal event, which begins at 6:00pm and will feature four 15-minute marketing case studies. Joel’s talk on blog marketing will kick off the festivities.
By coincidence, I will be visiting Montreal that week on a family vacation, so I plan to take part.
South of the border, the Boston Media Makers and New England Podcasters are sending out the call for “24 hours of independence from mainstream media.” Make a video. Take a Flickr photo walk. Blast some podsafe tunes as you record a podcast at the family barbecue.

25|Jun|2006 1Thanks for the shout-out. I am so happy you will be joining us at CaseCamp. I look forward to meeting.
Any chance you would like to present

26|Jun|2006 2I plan to be present, but not to present
I like the idea of reserving that fifth spot for a French presenter. I would be sufficiently lost, but I’d know darn well that I was in Montreal!
Hoping we can produce a Six Degrees/New Comm Road mashup of some sort. See you next week, Mitch!
