With inspiration from my Aussie mate Lee Hopkins, who is also the “voice” of New Comm Road, I’ve published my very first video podcast.
In the video I talk about PodCamp Boston, the first-ever podcasting unconference, which will take place at Bunker Hill Community College on September 9-10. Have you registered yet?
The video was made with my Canon PowerShot S1 IS digital camera. The process? Record. Upload to archive.org. Post here. As I might have said back when I was living in Lee’s homeland earlier in the decade … too easy!
Go easy on me in your feedback, OK?

How to watch
Option 1: Download the video.
Option 2: Click on the image of me below.
Option 3: Click on the appropriate link beneath the image.
Please note that trying to play the video within your browser requires a QuickTime plugin and doesn’t seem to work in all browsers (including my own), so downloading the file and watching on your preferred media player may work best.

Great effort mate! Great topic, great delivery.
Only two things I’d change: the angle of the camera and your tongue revealing moment when you go to turn the camera off.
Other than that, I do believe we have now thrown the gauntlet down to other communicators – can you imagine the size of the download file if FIR went video? LOL

12|Aug|2006 2Greetings Bryan,
A good pitch when articulated.
Like Lee said, a more straight-on camera angle would be good. Not offended by the tongue, shows your excitement and eagerness over this project.
Best regards
Dan

Thanks so much for your feedback! I had a lot of fun with this video. It’s really something I slapped together pretty quickly, without giving too much thought to camera angles. I just need to find a few big books to stack the camera on for next time!
And as for the tongue, well, it’s an -ism of mine
Gotta work on it.

17|Aug|2006 4Uh oh! If you’re video podcasting, I’d better get my butt in gear and release my own video podcast. You’re my inspiration, dude

Yup — it’s definitely time for you to get in the game, too! As I mentioned, I just used the video setting on my digital camera. Let me know if you have any questions along the way.
Australian business communicator Lee Hopkins was my inspiration; that’s great if I can be yours.
And don’t forget: You can learn more about video podcasting at PodCamp Boston.
