Now here’s an idea I wish we had come up at Monster.com, where I work.
Career Builder and Experience have teamed up on a promotion to give students a shot at a “job shadow” in the venture capital industry.
In the “Will Blog for Experience” competition, five students are blogging on the Experience website about finance for a period of about 20-30 days (none of the students has posted since October 22, so the blogging window must have come to an end, although the dates of the contest are not listed).
The blogger with the most readers in this period will be flown here to Boston to shadow at Polaris Venture Partners for a day.
Here are the five contestants: Alison, Emmie, Lindsey, Tyler, and Steven (photos of the students have been removed from this post, because the table code was doing funny things in the browser).
A similar competition is also coming up for a chance to win a one-day shadow at Digg.com in San Francisco.
One plea to the organizers: help these students keep their blogs now that the competition is over. If the blogs can’t stay on the Experience.com site, give the students a hand in moving their entries over to another platform, such as WordPress.
