I’ve got the topic of “meeting people” on my mind. After all, Social Media Breakfast 2 is taking place tomorrow morning in Waltham, Massachusetts (Are you going? There’s still time to register), and I’m looking forward to spending time with friends and colleagues, both old and new.
Chris Brogan (the guy on the left) is thinking about meeting people, too. In fact, he’s just written up a nice post about things to do and things to avoid when making the rounds at face-to-face gatherings.
Incidentally, in that photo above, Chris is chatting with David Cutler, who will also be a big part of tomorrow’s breakfast. David will be facilitating our optional break-out session on building successful business models for social media.

04|Oct|2007 4So sad I couldn’t make this but it sounds like it was awesome. I think all of my mornings are booked completely until graduation:) Maybe we could organize a fun after work meetup/tweetup/techcocktail.
Also- as a follow up to your awesome NCR podcast on RSS: Bill Snyder (www.billsnyder.vox.com) posted an interesting use. He said, “Google Reader also has a great Share feature. When you find posts you want to share, you add them to your share page. No big deal in and of itself, but from there, you have an RSS feed of everything you are sharing. People can subscribe to it. You can add it to your blog as a widget. You can have it automatically send out a tweet when you add something, and anyone following you will receive a link to the post via Twitter. It’s kind of a RSS feed of RSS feeds.”

04|Oct|2007 5Amanda, thanks for your comment. Looking forward to seeing you at a future breakfast.
Great idea on the share feature in Google Reader. In fact, I talk all about that in episode 37 of New Comm Road: http://www.newcommroad.com/2007/08/30/ncr-037-learning-about-google-reader/
Social Media Breakfast 2
04|Oct|2007 6[...] Jeff Pulver was one of the first people yesterday morning to wish me a Happy Social Media Birthday, very appropriate. Jeff, of course, wrote a wonderful post a short time ago concerning his own Social media Birthday. I’m not going to go into details of all of the wonderful emails, Twitters and Facebook Wall Posts that came my way yesterday. Rather, I want to talk about the face-to-face interactions that happened yesterday morning at Social Media Breakfast 2. [...]
