I generally don’t pay too much attention to awards ceremonies of any kind, but it’s become increasingly hard to ignore the third annual installment of the Podcast Awards.

Two of my favorite shows — For Immediate Release and Inside PR — are among the finalists for best business podcast, and I have a tough decision to make. (Money Girl and The Engaging Brand are good programs as well and are also in the running).

Shel Holtz, co-host of FIR along with Neville Hobson, isn’t shy about wanting to win. He’s “tired of being a finalist” and is asking for our vote. The guys over at Inside PR, meanwhile, are a little more polite in their request, but you just know that behind their aww-shucks-we’re-just-happy-to-be-nominated exterior, Terry Fallis and David Jones are itching to win the prize as well.

In any case, FIR and IPR are going to need a massive votal total from podcast fans to vault past odds-on favorite and two-time defending champion, Manager Tools. Still, I’d like to think that can happen.

You can vote once a day through August 11. Head over to the Podcast Awards now and make your selection(s).

I was truly humbled — and, to be honest, very surprised — to learn yesterday afternoon that Todd Andrlik’s Power 150 list had ranked Bryper.com 93rd best among all US blogs covering marketing topics.
I was truly humbled — and, to be honest, very surprised — to learn yesterday afternoon that Todd Andrlik’s Power 150 list had ranked Bryper.com 93rd best among all US blogs covering marketing topics. And just to make sure that the honor didn’t go to my head, Todd’s knocked me down a few notches to the 97th spot later in the day as part of his efforts to keep the list current and include new blogs that he discovers.

And, yes, this list is just one man’s view of the marketing blogosphere, but it certainly is an impressive list. To be included among the likes of Seth Godin, Shel Holtz, and Shel Israel, all of whose work I admire greatly, is indeed to be part of some very august company. I look forward to the challenge of continuing to publish content that will keep me on this list.

Thanks, Todd!

Not to be outdone, Sean Moffitt of Agent Wildfire has created “Canada’s 1% blogging army,” which, I’m happy to note, includes many of my friends referenced in a post last Friday about my upcoming visit to Toronto.
